Optical 3D measurement – The object in sight

Optical 3D scanners measure without contact using optical sensors. We use a so-called stereo camera system for three-dimensional measurement and shape measurement. This captures complete 3D data, even of large and complex components.

3DIMETIK uses the ATOS III Triple Scan for optical 3D measurement. It works extremely quickly, captures the finest structures and edges in high resolution and delivers impressive quality even on shiny surfaces.

The robust device can be used on the customer’s premises or automated for several parts in our measuring laboratory.

Based on the false color comparison of the gom 3D scanner, it can be determined very quickly whether the component complies with the specified dimensions for shape measurement. This is a decisive advantage for component development compared to other systems on the market.

The high-resolution 3D scan allows us to create a detailed image of the component and analyze whether and where it deviates from the ideal dimensions.

Our customers can also process the 3D data provided themselves using the ZEISS INSPECT Optical 3D software.

You can also use the scan data for reverse engineering. We will be happy to process the measurement data for you, evaluate the results with you and develop a suitable solution if the measurements have revealed any defects.

The ideal cube is based on the customer’s existing data set. It serves as a measure to compare the original cube, from which the 3D scan was created, with the ideal cube.

The optical 3D measurement process enables the original green cube and the ideal blue cube to be “superimposed” and thus analyzed.
